Yesterday the boys and I set out to make his favorite cake to celebrate.

The mess is sometimes pretty fantastic too.
Not that they're the only ones... I actually did this one all myself.
Miles is a good helper when it's time to clean up.
He's very thorough.
I took the cakes out of the oven a while later, let them cool a little and then...
Uh oh. I didn't have time to re-do. I almost cried.
Instead I let them cool completely and then glued it all together with frosting!
And it didn't even fall apart before Derek got home! Success? Kind of.
