Reception and Exit

After we finished taking group/family photos,
there was a little time to eat lunch.

It was a nice time of mingling with the families.

Miles woke up in time to eat.  My cousin, Tyler, and this wife, Amanda,
were great and helped Miles get food while I was still shooting pictures.

Then it was time to go into the reception area.

It didn't take long for people to start arriving.

We were able to sit and eat some cake.

And sit around chatting a little.

Eat cake.

Amanda helped Miles get dessert too.

But she quickly discovered he didn't need help shoveling it in! :)

There were other things to entertain kiddos.

And more cake.

Some baby snuggling.

And more cake.

There was some catching up between people who hadn't seen each other for years.

And cake.

More cousins gathered to check out the iPad.

And goodies galore...  you get the idea!

I caught the Ortmann group of grandkids decorating G'pa's car. And warned them that using toilet paper meant Grandpa would gather it all up before he left.

And somewhere along the line, I ended up carrying my shoes around instead of wearing them.

The sheet cakes had been served already, but it was time for the wedding cake to be cut.

The Groom's cake was triple chocolate with the Husker logo.
All of Grandpa's favorite things.

Cutting the cake!

Eating it too...

And then there were a few speeches and poems by Grandpa, Uncle Mark and Colleen.

More time to hang with Uncles.

And Jonah fit in a quick nap.
(Quick naps being Jonah's norm)

And yes, more goodies!

Miles spent some time with Grandma Debbie.

Or, um, Grandma's phone anyway.

Then there were a few goodbyes.

And off they went!

Ready to go.

But not before collecting the toilet paper.  Who can waste toilet paper?  Not Grandpa!

He did recruit some help to take it inside and didn't take it with him at least! :)

And they were finally ready to leave.

Goodbye!

And congratulations again, to this wonderful couple. We're thankful to God for how He works in the the hearts of people who love and trust Him. His way is best...
He has been good to our family.

  1. Nice post... it was a great day! And after reading all about the cake, I'm not sure I actually had any! Oops!
