Pearl Harbor

Our day's plan was to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial.  But first things first, we needed breakfast. These Hot Malasada's were like a donut ball, some with a filling of your choice.  Yum.

Then we were ready to go to the memorial.

We signed up for our USS Arizona tour and looked around a little.  The three older guys toured the USS Bowfin Submarine that you can see behind us here.  4yrs and over only were allowed so Miles and I waited on shore.

There was an audio tour if you wear the headphones.

And some things were pretty hands on.

Or body on...

There was a lot for Cooper to see.

Cooper and Daddy on the USS Bowfin Sub.

When we met back up the boys and I went into a little underwater communication station that was on display.

They had fun checking out all the gadgets.

And pushing every button they could find.

Then it was our turn to go see the USS Arizona Memorial.

Miles fell asleep during the 20ish minute documentary they show before the boat ride out to the sunken ship.

It was a little crowded but we were able to see everything.

The names of the men who died here.

And oil leaking up from the Arizona.  A pretty somber sight.

Miles woke up while on the memorial.

So he got to experience the boat ride back.

Headed back after our tour.
