Bass Pro Shop had a Father's Day event on Saturday. Derek needed to go into work for a while but then we met for a picnic at the park and headed to BPS. Where Cooper needed safety goggles to start the fun!
He got a little instruction on shooting a bb gun:
And then knocked out some targets like a pro!
(He really wanted to shoot the bow you see behind him, but the rule was he had to be able to draw it back himself and he wasn't quite strong enough)
Then he moved onto the next event, casting into a target.
The lady told Cooper he could get closer and he didn't mess around! Ha.
Then he got to spin for a prize. He won a free kids meal to their restaurant, "Uncle Bucks".
Then we headed inside for a free carousel ride.
(everything was free, which makes it all even more fun!)
Miles was sad when the ride was over.
But we cheered him up with some fishing at the catch and release pond.
Cooper was very excited about this! It was a sure fire way to actually catch a fish, right?
Wrong. :( Although there were about 30 bluegill in this tank, they must not have been hungry anymore by the time we took our turn. Cooper had one on his hook in this picture but it wiggled off before he pulled it up to see it. We gave up after we didn't catch anything.
...the saga of the empty hook continues.
The boys each colored a wooden snake.
And then sat and watched the big fish in the tank for a while.
Checked out the toy guns.
And then did a little target practice before we left.
A fun afternoon at the Bass Pro Shop!
