We'd been planning a "sister trip" to El Paso, Texas to visit again. The plan was for my sister, Mandy, and her kids would meet us in Oklahoma City, where Derek would take her car back to Tulsa for the week and the rest of us would go on to El Paso to visit our sister, Angie. So as we made plans with our van repair, we made sure the insurance company was aware of our plan and would accommodate us. They let us choose the date to drop our van off so that it would be in the shop while we were gone.
And pick up a rental van, with unlimited miles...I made sure, to take on our road trip.
The plans changed only slightly when my sister decided to have her hubby bring them to our house the night before. Lexa gave Owen his birthday gift before bed.
Then everyone tried to get some sleep before our early wake up call.
We hit the road before the sun came up!
And made approximately 942 pit stops. 😂
Fourteen-ish hours later... we made it!!

Let "sister week" begin!
The kids wasted zero minutes getting into the pool.
This is totally what they'd all been waiting for.
Thankfully, the water was much better for swimming than when Owen tried over spring break. ha!
The boys even fit in some lizard catching before the night was over.
And cuddled with cousins and pups to end things.
