Derek's Birthday 2019

The day after Owen's birthday he saw the leftover birthday cake on the counter.

Breakfast!!  Why not? It's birthday week!

Then he got dressed and played with birthday gifts.

We decided after all that cake, and more to come (it was Derek's birthday!) a walk to the park would be a good idea.

 Miles brought some tadpoles home with us.

We finished up Derek's birthday cake.

The same black forest cake he has requested for nearly ten years in a row now!

Then we ran to Starbucks since it was BOGO FREE Frappuccino day!
This was the first time Owen had gotten his very own drink there.

So we took a photo.  Then he immediately dropped it on the floor.  Oops.

Thankfully, the way it landed, it mostly just shot whipped cream all over the store and he had most of his drink left.

Derek got home and we ate dinner. Then, at the birthday boy's request, we went fishing.

Derek was still rigging up lines when Coop dropped his in and snagged the first fish.  This is common. ha.

Miles had some good catches that night too.

Owen tried his best.  😂

But he didn't catch one.

Neither did I.

Owen probably doesn't catch anything because he lays his pole down to run over to any fish caught asking if he can throw it back.

And hold it for a second. 

This made me laugh, you can hear him call the fish cute...  huh? Ha.
Then the end....  😂😂😂

Derek did get a couple before the night was over.


And Cooper got a pretty good one!


Owen did end up with a catch.  A firefly!!

Then we ran home and put 38 candles in Derek's cake.

And sang Happy Birthday so he could try to blow them out!

(He changed shirts because we realized he was wearing the same t-shirt as all his birthday photos last year!! haha.)

Then we ate cake!
