BA High School Basketball Camp 2019

Broken Arrow high school held a one hour basketball camp for 5th Grade boys.  We saw it mentioned on a school newsletter and decided to check it out since it was free!  We showed up and Cooper started warming up.  That's him on the far end of the court all alone, slightly intimidated by the high school players.  😀

The rest of us found a seat in the rather impressive gymnasium.

A little while after the time it was to start, one of the assistant coaches came of to us and asked if Miles wanted to join, since they had so few boys show up.  Miles literally flew out of his seat to find a way onto the court! (which is through a back hallway! ha!)

That left Owen to sit with me.  Or behind me.

Or in every.single.seat. around me!

They started out with some fun drills, Cooper won the dribbling game where you try to knock the ball out of everyone else's hand while protecting yours.

They also did some passing drills.

And a lot of full court drills with lay ups!

My boys were so worn out! haha!  It was a big court!

They ended with a little chat from the BA High School head coach, who gave them full size candy bars.  They like him a lot now. :)

I had my boys posing with the court behind them before we left, when the head coach noticed he jumped in the photo with them! :)
They also got to keep these basketballs!

It was a fun experience! I think the low turn out was lack of advertising or knowledge of the event...
We hope they do it again.

Thankfully, this was also the day our hot water heater was finally replaced and we all got to bathe!! We needed it!  (we'd been boiling water for baths, but it wasn't the same. ha)
