Our Christmas at Home 2018

We had our little family Christmas the weekend before we headed to Wichita for the actual Christmas. We do this every year and we always look forward to it.  We started our Friday evening with chinese take out.   Then we had cupcakes to celebrate Jesus' birthday.

We sang and the boys blew out the candles.

Then tasted them.  Most of my boys prefer if I wipe the frosting off first, so they can eat the cupcake.  What?! haha.

We moved to the sofa where Derek read the Christmas story about Jesus' birth.

Then, yes... gifts!  Owen got some Lightning McQueen rain boots he begged for at the store nearly two months ago.  He was thrilled! He slipped them right on and announced, "They feel great."!

I was pretty excited for him to open his next gift!

...because I thought he'd be thrilled, since he's been asking for a Hot Wheels track for.so.long.  If you watched the video, you heard him say, "That's not a Hot Wheels tracks".  oops.  I didn't realize it needed to be the orange track like the one we sold at our garage sale when we moved.  Parent Fail.

He did warm up to it...

Especially when he realized there was an orange "Hot Wheels" section.  Ha!

Miles had asked for slippers...  the night before!  He found out he could wear slippers to the PJ party at school the following week and was pretty sure it sounded fun.  So I ran and got some that morning.  Last minute, anyone?!

All three boys got new shoes.  Too bad Owen's aren't actually going to fit him until next Christmas.  Another parent fail.

I also purchased all the boys Usborne books from my second cousin.  Owen got right to it!  Check out her fb page if you need books! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1810690522371172/

We spent the rest of the evening relaxing and playing with new stuff.

Then watched a movie...   that Owen didn't make it through.

Merry Christmas!
Owen is fine, he's just been perfecting his new trick: cross eyes!
