Aquarium During Fall Break

We also took advantage of fall break and hit the aquarium again!

Yes, we've seen it before, but each time is a new experience with these goof balls. :)

Coop climbed inside the tube for a view.

Then they saw the puffer fish hanging out by the viewing bubble again.

Owen found Nemo. :)

And, oh wait....   we haven't seen it all!
The new Polynesian Reef exhibit opened since our last visit!

We gave it a great review!

It now houses the eel, Pickles.

Since we were there during a week day afternoon, we got to see the shark feeding!

This only happens on Monday and Thursday afternoons, so we were thrilled. haha.

Well, Owen was just sleepy.
He doesn't nap everyday, but apparently this was one he would have liked to.

But then, finally, they started dropping salmon steak into the shark tank!

Owen was happy about the sharks now.

It was actually really interesting.

There was an aquarium employee answering questions and giving info.  The boys got to ask him about something they saw in the tank that they were positive was a shark egg. (You can see it in the previous photo floating just off the bottom toward the left of the center.)  Turns out, it was!  The nurse sharks 'drop' unfertilized eggs randomly...  who knew!?

Every time we've visited, Owen has asked to take a photo in the photo booth.  For $5, I've always said no.  He begged this time, so we climbed in and I set my phone on the front where the camera is and set the timer....  ha.  Owen doesn't know the difference!

And: FREE!  This Mama is cheap, remember.  And silly, we're all silly.

We saw the rays on the way out.

Then quickly wrestled an alligator before leaving.  :)
