Mom's 60th Celebration - Getting Things Started

My Mom's birthday is September 1st.   This year was her 60th birthday, so early in the summer we started making plans to celebrate with her.   Our grand plan was for all of us sisters, that could make it, would take Mom to the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile for the day, before we all headed to spend Labor Day Weekend in Wichita together.  However, as the day drew near, it became more and more obvious that there was a lot going on in Mom's life, and that very day, that would make a change of plans much more relaxing for her.
So: We started with lunch out at a favorite restaurant, Bella Luna Cafe, in Wichita.

It never disappoints!

Yum!

And partway through lunch we noticed that Ree Drummud, the Pioneer Woman, was on TV in the restaurant.  Haha... so we saw her after all! :)

Next we headed to get our nails done together.

This was Mom's first ever pedicure.

I didn't do a pedicure, but just got my nails done.

Which Mom decided to to too after her toes were done.

It was a great, relaxing celebration time.  A great way to get the holiday weekend started!
