Library + Splash Pad

Summer is lasting a while here in Oklahoma.  Today is October 2nd and the expected high is 88º.  All the pools close when school starts, but they keep the splash pads open a bit longer.  So after school on a Friday, we made a quick stop at the library...

Then headed to a nearby park with a splash pad.
(This town has a lot of great splash pads!)

Owen headed for the water to cool off.

But Cooper saw the drainage ditch... 

and grabbed this turtle immediately! 

So Cooper & Miles were more interested in creature catching than the splash pad.

Especially since they were having a pretty successful creature catching day.

And we didn't even bring nets.

Miles kept running over...

to show us each crayfish.

Owen is always impressed.

I took Owen to check out the playground.

And eventually the big boys were forced decided to come cool off in clean water.

I'm not sure they ever used the splash pad correctly though. 

Then we went home for dinner and reading library book with Daddy.
