Celebrating My Other Mother

After we said our goodbyes at the Bauer's, we headed back to Mleynek's.  Owen helped Grandpa Dale grill burgers and we all ate dinner together.

Then went out for ice cream...

To celebrate Debbie's birthday a few days early. 

We ate outside since it was a small shop and the weather was nice.

And, of course, posed for a photo.

Back at the house, Miles got to open birthday gifts (two days early) from G'ma & G'pa.

He's had this book on his Amazon wish list for over a year, he didn't waste any time starting it! ha.
Coyote Peterson's, "Brave Adventures" - This boy has always preferred non-fiction!

Debbie had found trivia questions about bugs on the internet and each time Miles answered correctly, he got to open a gift.  He scored very well!

And it was Owen's turn to wear 'plugs' like Marshall. :)
Since G'ma went and got everyone some more magnets.

I totally forgot to take a photo of Debbie opening the gift we gave her.  Well, Owen was in charge of her gift this year and was pretty proud of it.  He helped her put it all away in her kitchen. 

The week before, he had carefully chosen an assortment of kitchen utensils for her.

For some reason he loves to look at these, and beg to buy them, when we're at Walmart.  So when I told him to pick some out for G'ma, he went for it! :)

I had to help a little or he would have purchased one of everything, in every color!
(He also picked out a hot wheels car for each Grandma!)

He also insisted on ringing it all up by himself.
To bad he didn't insist on paying? haha.
