We've already covered the fact that we like to set up the slip-n-slide to keep cool in the summer.
We set it on a hill which caused it to fill the bottom with water.
So Owen brought out his bath toys (from Aunt Brenda) so he could practice fishing. :)
When we cleaned up that day, the boys noticed that all the water had brought the earthworms to the surface.
We have huge worms here! The boys decided they should collect some.
And use the to entice Daddy into taking them fishing that evening.
Their plan worked. :) And we hadn't checked out "Pond #3" yet.
Maybe it was the worms, but it was an immediate success! Cooper and Miles each had one in, at the same time, within a couple casts.
And just kept pulling them in after that.
Owen got a worm and got his line it too.
It didn't take long before he was reeling one in.
He did it completely by himself, and was super proud!
Then he consoled the fish! haha!
I could hear him saying, "It's okay, it's okay."!
I got one myself, on Owen's rod again... this typically happens when he walks away and I start to reel in his line.
Derek got a couple.
And Owen and Daddy both had one in at the same time.
Miles was the winner that night with thirteen fish.
He doesn't usually 'beat' Cooper, but it was a good night for him. He really cleaned up...
Then needed cleaned up... worms are messy!
But they helped make this a super successful evening. Good thing we don't care about this size, just the numbers.
I thought I 'won' for smallest fish...
But Cooper took that trophy!
Owen caught one more thing before we called it quits. 😂
