Moving- Closing/Unloading Day

Owen slept very well in his big hotel bed.

Then finally got his sausage at breakfast.  He approved.

He also had orange juice.  I just put it in a cup with a lid.

I packed up while Derek checked on the car.

Then we headed to the title office to sign closing papers for the new house!

Owen took complete advantage of the free snacks and wi-fi.

While we were signing papers, a big storm rolled in.  It was down pouring by the time we met the movers at the house.

This was a nice little surprise from our realtor though!
(Never mind that she spelled our name wrong, still so fun! And it's just chalk.)

In no time, the big items were off the truck.  Owen helped arrange pillows on the furniture.

He also tried to help assemble beds.

Having movers assemble beds is a great luxury!!  They had it all done super fast, so Owen helped me put sheets the boys' beds.  All three boys will be in one room until we buy another bed.

While the movers kept unloading, thankfully during a break in the rain...

I helped Owen dig into a few boxes to find toys.

And some of his books.

By then, the truck was nearly empty!

And the house looking more full.

Once the movers wrapped up and went on their way, we left to grab some lunch/dinner.  We'd used the parking break in our new, sloped driveway... and the parking break seized up!  Derek tried to mess with it, but couldn't seem to fix it.  We could smell break burning as we drove around, finally eating after realizing all the auto mechanic shops were closed.

We went back to the house, put sheets on our bed and changed our morning plans.  Instead of heading out toward Peoria super early in hopes of being back by the time school was out, we'd have to find an open mechanic first thing.  (Though one discussion included just renting a car to get back and leave the Durango behind)

We got Owen settled and in bed.

Then I started in on a few boxes in the kitchen.

But realized I wanted to wipe down the (walk in!) pantry so that I could put things away.

So that I could find a few essentials for morning! :)

Then finally, off to bed!
