Deck the Halls 2017 Edition

So, we were all pretty sick with colds over Thanksgiving break.  We spent a lot of time blowing our noses, sneezing and coughing.

But it was nice that we had time off to recuperate...
and play games.

But one thing on the To-Do list was to dig out the Christmas decorations!

Whew!  This is fun, but always a bit crazy.

Owen was really into it this year.   He set up the Nativity for us.

While Derek worked on getting the tree put together.
(He still prefers the work of fluffing the artificial tree over cutting a real one and dragging needles through the house.  Scrooge. 😊)

While Derek got the big tree ready for ornaments, the boys took to decorating the little one in Owen's room.

I almost snuck a video of them singing Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer before the spotted me. ha.

They got it done, but Owen couldn't keep his hands off of it.

He tipped it over quite a few times that evening.

We all worked on the tree in the living room.
(while watching the KU game on my computer)

Owen wasn't a whole lot of help with this tree.  He kept crawling underneath it.

I think he thought he was hiding.

He did hang an ornament or two all the way under there...

And got out to hang a few on a higher part of the tree too.

He ehlped me put some lights in the widow sill, then drove his car through them.

He also found out that glitter is a hazard of Christmas decorations.

We got it done!!  Mostly, anyway, we added sliver bead garland and I rearranged a little the next day.

That's also when the boys tried to hang the mistletoe.

Daddy stepped in to help get the job done.

We're officially ready for Christmas Season!
