So Long Summer Weekend - High Tea

Aunt Mandy really did win Owen over with his new coloring book and stickers! :)  It was the first thing he wanted to do when he woke up in the morning.

After he made some art, we headed over to Bauer's again where there were some fun preparations in the works.

Even the littlest ladies were getting ready.

Our Grandma Bauer had a tradition of throwing tea parties for us when we were little.  She had little tea sets and made food and served it, usually at a tiny table.  It was something we looked forward to when we went to Grandma's house.  My sister, Anna, had the idea to take Grandma to high tea to celebrate her recent birthday while we were all together.  After searching for the right place and not finding it, we decided to throw our own tea party for Grandma!

Derek took all the boys over to his parent's house...

Which worked for Aunt Mik to rock Owen to sleep at nap time.

And all the ladies sat down for tea!  With little sandwiches.

pastries...

cookies...

It was all wonderful and fancy.  And cute little girls all dressed up enjoyed it too.

Especially the little tea cups.

Perfect for sipping their tea.

...with a side of sugar!!! πŸ˜‚

As we finished up our food and started more tea, Grandpa decided he would like to join us.

Of course we let him, since he put his pinky up to taste his tea. :)

Then someone pulled out the hats for a fun photo op.

So Grandpa, not to be left out of this either, went after his cowboy hat to pose for some photos.

And Dad didn't want to be left out of the hat photos or tea party either.
(He's just here for the food)

πŸ’œ What a fun time having tea and making new memories....
that reflect some of the past moments!  πŸ’œ

If I can track down some old photos of us as kids having tea parties with G'ma, I'm going to revisit this topic! :)
