Devil's Den & Dinner

While the wedding party headed to the rehearsal...

Those of us who weren't in the wedding drove out to Devil's Den State Park.

Derek and I had been there years ago (in 2001, maybe?) with our church college age group.  Derek was disappointed to find out that they closed the caves to hikers long ago.  But we found a creek area and set the boys loose!

They'd been begging to do this since they crashed the creek party at Roaring River...

And I think they would have stayed hours longer than the rest of us were willing!

We let them chase the minnows and a random trout for as long as we could stand... haha.  Poor Lauren, who is pregnant put up with it great as we let the boys float around.

Owen threw more rocks while Mason kept track of the bucket of minnows.
And by kept track, I totally mean 'pet them' until their scales fell off!  😂

We dried off and loaded boys in the cars.  Then Dale took us all out for burgers!

That's when Cooper spotted the stray cat.

We'd seen a "Lost Cat" flier on a post at a stop sign earlier offering a $100 reward.  Cooper was SO SURE this was the cat.  He begged us to let him lure and capture it!

We didn't let him.  And it's a good thing, because on the way back we drove by the flier again and this cat didn't look anything like the one in the photo!! hahaha.

We saw some deer again on our way back in.

Then headed to our rooms at the (did I mention beautiful?!) Inn.

There were little steps on either side of the bed...  Owen used them to crawl up there and then declare he was sleeping in the big bed.   Sorry, little dude, it's the pack-n-play for you! :)  He didn't complain when I moved so he could go to sleep.

Then I moved the stairs away from the bed until we checked out. 😏
