Independence Day in Iowa 2017 - The Lake

Our first morning in Iowa, Owen woke up and snuggled with Grandpa.  Owen likes his morning snuggles.  And Owen really likes Grandpa.

We got around and ready so we could go visit Vicki, G'pa Don's friend.  She lives in a condo right on Lake Panorama.

We arrived and headed down to the dock.

And climbed on the boat.

Once settled in...

We were off for a boat tour of the lake.

Vicki has a nice boat and knows a lot about the properties and lake history, she was a great 'tour guide".

The boys just went along for the ride.

Daddy held onto Owen while he got a better view.  He pointed out all the pink flamingo floaties he could see.  Apparently they're a popular lake item this year!

Debbie took a photo of us around the time we cruised by the property the Mleyneks owned when Dale was a kid/teenager.

Miles was getting his sea legs and feeling pretty comfortable on the boat by then.

Owen was feeling pretty comfortable too.

Like really comfy.

Yup, he had a short snooze.
It didn't last long though, since he woke up as we all unloaded off the boat.  Then Vicki pulled out a bunch of food that she claimed was "No big deal, it's leftovers" :) and fed us all!

Then a few of us headed down to the small, sandy beach area.

 And took a little dip.

The water was a tiny bit chilly, but felt good once you got used to it.

We had fun playing in the water for a while.

There was just a little bit of fishing.  Because we're at a lake and had our poles.  No one snagged any fish though.

Owen would have sat in that raft all day...  even on dry land!
