T-Ball Game

Miles has enjoyed his first year playing t-ball.  They don't play at a diamond, they do practice drills on a church lawn.  It's a lot of fundamentals...  and one week they had the fire department come over and spray tarps for them to practice their sliding!

We have been at the diamond quite a bit watching Cooper.  If Cooper has a Thursday game, we have to split up and each take a kid in different directions.  Not ideal, but it works out.

One evening, Derek took Miles to t-ball while Owen and I watched Cooper's game.
(this is Owen's new picture face!)

T-ball doesn't last as long though, so Miles showed up in time for another 'cheese' photo.  And to watch the rest of Cooper's game.

Then, finally... the night Miles had been looking forward to arrived.  He had a game at the ball diamond!

They had their devotion and prayer beforehand like always...

Then they headed for the dugout.

Derek was on the field helping little players know which way to run.

Miles thought he was pretty cool stuff sitting in the dugout waiting for his turn to bat.

Cooper and Owen took their seats to watch.  And broke out the snacks.  Seriously, Owen only comes for the snacks.

We watched as the kids thumped the ball off the tee.  Then Miles got up to bat and smashed it.  Comparatively speaking. Ha.  If you listen at the end, you'll catch some proud big brother noise.  By 'proud big brother', I totally mean prideful... as in taking the credit. HA!  He was actually proud of Miles too.  Since he "taught him that"!!! 😂

Miles was on first base when the last batter for his team was up.  So they let them all run all the way through to home plate.

Then Miles' team got to take the outfield while the other team was at bat.

They played one inning, enough for each team to let every team member bat...   and run all the bases and come home, of course.

Then they all lined up...

...gave high fives and we all went home.
