A while back I mentioned (promised?) I was going to do a post about "Copy Cat Owen". I started accumulating photos for such a post but quickly realized that at this stage in life, EVERYTHING he does is because he's copying someone. Ha. I also only have what photos I'd moved to a file on my computer before the 'Great iPhoto Situation of 2016'. So, here is just a very small sampling of things Owen copies.
Derek laid a strip of new grass seed, which required a lot of watering at first. Owen caught on quick and was always willing to help with watering.
He also likes to help prepare meals and bake.
The inevitable happened... Owen realized his brothers dip their nuggets in ketchup. So, now he does too! And yes, makes a slightly bigger mess now.
Here he's trying to refill his water like the bigger people do.
He can't say it, but he puts his hand over his heart when we say the Pledge of Allegiance in the morning before school.
He also plugs his ears when I run the blender.
And does Cooper's math for him.
And... (insert eye roll) plays video games.
But he does like to pull his weight. He can reach the silverware drawer to help unload the dishwasher now.
And he doesn't put Legos in his mouth anymore, so he's allowed to touch them more often.
A BIG favorite is brushing his teeth.
He knows which toothbrush belongs to each family member. Including which one is his, of course.
He gets it out and pushes the stool over to the sink. He does still require quite a bit of help though.
Between summer league and fall ball, there was a lot of baseball around here. Owen also caught onto this fun pretty quickly.
But he always holds the bat backwards.
No matter how many times we turn it around and hand him the handle, he flips it back over.
He also has own way of using his ball glove.
Or maybe he knows it's a better way! :)
And last, the funniest moments come when Owen thinks he's copying, but doesn't understand how things work... :)
There are so, so many more because: If a big brothers shakes his head like a crazy person and sticks out his tongue, Owen does too. And if I move something with my foot, Owen does too. You get the idea. He's a fun little guy!
Awww! You're such a sweet little guy, Owen! I love you! Auntie Angie
