Getting Settled at the Cabin

It only took about 45 seconds at the cabin before Miles found a caterpillar.

And 65 seconds for the boys to talk Derek into seeing how the fish were biting in the little pond behind the cabin.  They unloaded fishing poles and tackle to go check it out.

And it took 95 seconds for Owen to find a snack.

My boys would fish all the time if it were possible.  This was so much fun for them.

And it didn't take long before Cooper had pulled in a pretty good bass!

Then Miles got a little blue gill.

Daddy got one too.  😂

Owen and I took a walk over to check the big guys so Owen got to see a fish.

He thought it was funny.

But after a giggle, he was off and running again.

We walked back to the cabin and relaxed while we waited for the guys to finish fishing.

Unfortunately, Owen touched the glass on this heater I'd started up to warm things up on that chilly evening.

And spent a good part of the evening with his fingers on ice. 😢

Things were damp outside, but Derek and Cooper got a fire going so we could roast hot dogs for dinner. Miles helped too.

Then s'more for dessert!
