We've been asking Miles to take his training wheels of his bike for about a year. :) He's a cautious person, just like his Mama... and declined over and over. Last Sunday afternoon, he suddenly announced he was ready! So Daddy helped him get those things off of there!
Then Daddy set him on two wheels and gave him some instructions.
And held onto the back of the bike as he learned the feel of balancing.
It didn't take long before Daddy was running along and letting go every little bit.
Miles was still nervous and cautious. But he was doing it!
And not needing Daddy very much at all.
Owen and I practiced safety while we watched Miles practicing.
And in no time, Miles was off and going all on his own!
Even coming to a stop, tricky you know, without dragging your feet.
Miles also tied his shoes by himself for the first time that day!
It was a big day... and two long overdue feats accomplished.
A few days later, Miles is pretty much a pro.
Well.... almost.
I best stock up on band aids for the summer.
What a great, quiet neighborhood you live in! I love the fact the street stops at your house.
ReplyDeleteGood job Miles!
