As thankful as we were to have a long weekend, we are more thankful for all who have served our country and sacrificed for our freedom. It's something we were sure to keep in mind even as we got together with friends to spend time this Memorial Day.
Some friends from church host a cookout every year. This is the second year we've joined the festivities.
They throw a good party and have a great yard for it. We all enjoyed the food...
Festive desserts too!
There was a lot of kid play time...
And even sprinkler time...
As the adults had time to chat.
...and eat.
Then they pulled out the piñata!
The kids each get a few swings at it in order of youngest to oldest.

And everyone went home with some candy!
