Chinny Chin Chin

We have a chair that sits in front of our living room window.  The boys often crawl up the chair and into the window sill to look out.  One day, I was in the kitchen and heard a loud thump and Miles crying.  He had started to climb up to look out and missed the sill, smacking his chin right on the edge.

It hardly bled it all and looked like a little slit, but when he looked up... it spread wide open!

After consulting a few people, including my Nurse Practitioner friend, we decided to head to the local prompt care and see if it could simply be glued shut.  So we loaded up, Miles holding a towel and ice pack on his chin.

We hadn't even finished registration when someone came to take us back to the examining room.  The nurse cleaned Miles' wound and was very accommodating and let him make sure and check out anything she was about to do.

He was so brave, he laid very still and let her clean it up.

Next a P.A. came in, put a little glue on it, then held it together for one minute.

All done!!  Miles was happy and good to go!

They told us it would be tacky for a while and gave us instructions about how to take care of it.  It actually took very little maintenance, one of the reasons we had it glued.  Miles did an excellent job of making sure nothing touched it for a while and protecting it from being bumped.

And in a little less than a week, the glue fell off like a scab, just like they said it would.  It's healing nicely!  It's still a little pink, also just like they said, but it looks like Miles will barely even have a scar!
