This is Aida. Our friends asked us to dog-sit for a weekend and we gladly agreed. We've been around Aida enough to know she's a great dog and easy to have around.
They dropped her off and my boys were ecstatic to have a dog!
...even if it was only for a few days.
They were anxious to be around her and didn't leave her alone.
Aida was SO patient with them and tolerated a lot of affection.
Even taking her out for a potty break was fun for them.
She also joined them for a Lego building session.
And ended up in Miles' bed at nap time.
Much to the boy's dismay, I'm pretty sure I'm her favorite.
She hung by me as I worked around the house, and made herself comfy in the kitchen with me.
Derek got home from work and she performed a few tricks.
And joined in on a wrestling match.
She was good at sitting under the boys at the dinner table too.
The first night she slept in her bed in the boy's room.
But the next night, I found her all comfy in my spot when I went to get in bed.
She's not the only one who likes to end up in my bed...
The next morning, Cooper had joined her.
Then the next morning, it was Miles.
Good thing they're cute. :)
By the end of the weekend, we didn't even need the leash.
Aida behaved perfectly and the boys enjoyed running the yard with her.
And doing tricks.
Aida also helped Derek clean up the garage.
And again, was so tolerant of all the affection shown her all weekend.
She was fun to have around.
The boys don't completely agree that we don't need our own dog, but this was a perfect arrangement to get to enjoy one without having the responsibility long term! So, we won't be getting a dog anytime soon, mostly because we don't want to add a "Dog Food" column to our budget or find someone to dog sit when we want to leave town for a week. But we'll dog sit again anytime!
