My boys had been looking forward to swimming lessons for weeks.
When the day finally came, they ate breakfast in their swim trunks.
9:50am took forever to come that morning!
Once at the pool though, Cooper got right in.
And was floating around in no time.
And "Knee Diving".
Miles was only a little more timid.
He was in a going in to time too.
Even doing some back floats with the kick board.
And when the sun was too bright, his teacher let him use her sunglasses.
This was one of his favorite parts...
Throw the boat.
And then go get it!
After a few lessons, Miles was getting pretty good on the kick board.
His teacher let go and he did it by himself!
ooooops!
Cooper has it down. Back kick all by himself.
And started to implement some of the strokes they were learning.
He's doing some real swimming now!
The boys did two, four day weeks of lessons.
Part way through we found some goggles on clearance for $.74.
So they took them to lessons and tried them out the next day.
They worked well... and I got a good laugh.
We had a few chilly days during lessons too.
As cool as 60's one morning.
Miles quickly found it was warmer to stay down in the water.
Hot chocolate to warm up at home helped too.
A highlight of lessons was going off the diving board!
Cooper got to do it almost every day of lessons.
Miles just got to once.
But he was SO excited after he did it!
Derek came to watch one day.
These boys love swimming lessons.
...any excuse to be at the pool!
