After owning it for 11 years, we recently said goodbye to the 2000 Grand Am with 217K miles and ever growing list of needed repairs.
We had been shopping around for months and God provided this 2002 Saab 9-5 with 67K miles and it was under budget! Other perks are that it's silver, has leather interior and a sunroof - all things on my 'wish list' that I wasn't sure I'd get.
Uncle Trey kept the boys while Derek and I went to barter and buy. (We made a low offer on the asking price and the dealership took it!) Even though it was nearly 10pm when we got home, the boys got to go for a quick ride before bed.
And tried to fit in an exploration of every square inch of "Turbo". They name our cars and when they heard us say that this Saab has some sort of turbo engine, that was it.
They had to go to bed and finish approving every detail the next day.
We're happy to welcome this little car to the family. It took the place of family car and bumped the Durango and it's 207K miles to "Derek's Truck". We broke in the Saab on our first road trip and it did great getting just under 30 miles per gallon! Whoo hoo. :)
Always a welcome change to move from a one model to another. It kind of breathes a new life into you - gives you a fresh start, so to speak. What's more, it's more fuel efficient than the Durango, which means using it will be a lot easier on the pocket. Nice catch!
