A while back I mentioned that Derek's brother, Trey, interviewed for a part time internship position with InterMedia Outdoors, where Derek works. He was offered and took the job! So I had two boys asking me every hour for weeks when Uncle Trey would arrive. I finally made them a calendar so they could cross off the days and watch them go by.
We spent our time waiting for him by cleaning out a room for him to stay in.
We moved our office out of the third bedroom and into the basement.
...there might have been a few distractions along the way though.
We got it done though and Trey's room was ready for him before he arrived!
And finally... the long awaited day arrived!
Trey had been here about four seconds when the boys made him look through the 28 paintings, drawings and coloring pages they'd been setting in his room for him.
They were also a big help setting up his room. (ha)
And I had two pretty disappointed boys when Uncle Trey left for his first day at his new job the next morning.
But their frowns turned into smiles when he came home!
And that's when, less than 24 hours after he arrived, Derek and I left him with the boys for the evening!
We had to go to a meeting at church so it worked out great.
...we might have snuck in a coffee date too.
Trey is settling in nicely. He slept on our air mattress the first two nights and then we found a bed on craigslist. The guys picked it up and it was a team effort putting it together.
Cooper deemed it the perfect bed right away.
And then asked when he could sleep in there with Uncle Trey.
Trey is also willing to help with things around the house.
Or helping Derek build a picnic table.
And they boys love when he plays with them, which he's done a LOT of!
Trey's internship is for six months and then they'll decide if it will be longer or not. We're glad to have him and are glad he's getting such a great opportunity to work with Derek's company.
