By the time I made a full menu & list and headed to the grocery store to actually stock up, it was the day before we were expecting a snowstorm. So pretty much all the stores were packed full of people preparing for the storm.
I got what I needed though and sure enough,
we woke up the next morning to snow falling rapidly from the sky.
It was a Sunday and Derek was scheduled to play on the worship team at church. So he was up, ready and out digging out around 7am... while doing so though, he got a text that church was cancelled.
So he turned his attention to digging out around the front door, sidewalk and driveway.
Cooper woke up soon and thought Daddy needed his help.
Out he went to help the efforts.
...or something.
Really, Derek said even with his little plastic shovel, Cooper was help.
He gave him sections to work on and he moved the snow off of them.
Cooper did come in to warm up and then rejoin the shoveling in dry clothes.
This time he used his beard for a face warmer.
And by the time they came in, they had matching frozen beards!
It was an unexpected day spent at home but it was nice and relaxing.
...for most of us. Derek had to go out and shovel the drive way again before the day was up.
