Miles finished the antibiotic for his ear infection on a Saturday morning.
Sunday morning he woke up with a few suspicious hives on his torso.
They got worse throughout the day.
And were spreading to his face and arms.
By Monday morning he looked like this:
So back to the doctor we went. Where we were told to try an over the counter
allergy medicine and if that didn't help the doctor would call in a steroid.
By the time we went to the doctor, the store and then home, Miles looked like this:
And by the next day, he would hardly get down or move off my bed.
This is when I called and asked the doctor to please give us more medicine.
Once starting that, Miles finally started improving but he still looked pretty pathetic.
We did oatmeal baths and foot soaks. His feet were so swollen he didn't want to walk.
Popsicles were a pretty good medicine too.
After a couple days the swelling went down and his skin started to bruise.
Then he went from swollen hives to splotches.
And was apparently feeling a bit more like himself again!
I thought he was pretty much over them and then he woke up one morning with a swollen face. He took his yucky medicine like a champ and got whatever breakfast he wanted - chicken nuggets and ketchup!
...at 6:30am while watching Nick Jr.
From then on he had redness and splotches that moved around.
And on day 10 he looked like this:
Yesterday was two weeks since the first hives started and he only has a spot here and there now. But we had a pretty rough, sleepless weekend due to an earache again. We're trying not to go in for an antibiotic because of his reaction so are trying to treat it other ways. Last night I contacted some family and asked them to pray and Miles improved within hours! I don't think we're done with it yet, he's complained his ear hurts a few times today, but I saw God's touch in taking away pain so we could all sleep last night. Please pray for complete healing when you think about my little guy... he's had a rough month.
The only thing that finally helped Kailey's ears was the chiropractor! Highly recommend it! Poor Miles, that looks horrible.
