Let It Grow

A while back I grabbed these herb growing starter kits for $1.

I thought the boys would get a kick out of planting them.  They did!

We put the soil pellets in water and once they
soaked it all up we put it back in the containers.

Cooper picked basil.  I didn't realize basil seeds are so small!

Miles was in charge of cilantro, whose seeds are only a little larger!

They placed the seeds in the soil...

Or dropped them onto it.

And buried them a little.

Then we put the lids back on.

And walked them outside.

Where we left them on the balcony in hopes they'll get enough sun. I was really hoping we'd be in a house by now and be able to plant some sort of actual garden. But instead we'll work with what we've got!

When Miles went to bed that night he was upset once he realized we were leaving them out there.  They were the first thing he checked on when waking up the next morning.

Cooper's now has a few little sprouts!

Miles doesn't... maybe we didn't bury them deep enough or too deep.
Mama does NOT have a green thumb.  Perhaps I passed that on to Miles.
Or maybe it has something to do with the lesson I never seem to learn...
You get what you pay for.  HA.
