Pumpkin Festival

Saturday we went with a group of neighbors to the Pumpkin Festival in Morton, Illinois.

Fun Fact: Over 80% of the worlds canned pumpkin comes from Morton.

We showed up for the parade.

Cooper got himself a seat by Erica, our neighbor, and got ready to catch candy.

Miles got a birds eye view on Daddy's shoulder.

Miles cheered every time a marching band went by... and there were quite a few.

He also taste tested a little of the candy.

You'd expect to see giant pumpkins at a pumpkin parade.

And a pumpkin carriage.

And my kiddos enjoyed seeing a few familiar characters too.

Blue!

Dora and Boots.

Pooh and Tigger.

And Bob the Builder.

There were tractors.  Now this is the kind of parade we're used to!

We saw just a few Farmalls, Grandpa Gordie.

And then we headed over to the carnival and ate fair food.

Corn Dog!

And Popcorn.

It was really busy because of the parade crowd so we skipped the carnival rides and headed home for naps. Yep... we're a lively bunch like that.  :)
