It's a Zoo

After we ate lunch we headed to the zoo in Michigan City.
We had a great day for it!  It was a cooler day and the animals were very active.

This bear was pacing and would come right up to the window on his way around.

And this lemur wanted to come out and play.

This little pony was friendly.

He even gave Miles a kiss!

The boys would have watched the alligator do nothing forever.

Miles is a big fan of birds...only he calls them all turkeys!

Here is my little family standing inside an eagle nest.  It was huge!

And Miles found another 'turkey'.

It wasn't a huge zoo, but we did a lot of walking, maybe in circles. Miles wasn't really interested in the stroller... he had fun checking everything out.

We did some stairs too.

We climbed to the top of the tower.  Cooper called it a castle.

We made it!

...and the climb was worth the view of Lake Michigan!

We took a rest and enjoyed it.

Miles wanted a better view and doesn't seem scared of heights at all.

Cooper wasn't scared either, even when he got his head caught in the bars.

And then we made the trek back down.

Cooper somehow ended up in the stroller and got a bumpy ride down.

We went into the reptile building and the boys didn't want to leave...

And then we saw the otters.
There was a tube to get into and see them from under the water.

Cooper loved it!

Miles checked it out too...

But he would rather chase 'turkeys'!  He thought he had this peacock cornered but it flew up onto the fence and Miles jumped back because it startled him.  We got a laugh out of it.

Then Uncle Mark bribed them to leave bought them goodies in the gift shop.

Thanks, Uncle Mark!
