While we were in Wichita we walked in the fifth annual Autism Care Walk.
My nephew Ethan was diagnosed with autism a couple years ago and although he's considered 'high functioning' it still causes struggles he has to work hard to overcome to cope in daily life.
Part of the goal during this event, along with raising funds for research, is raising awareness to autism. What better way to do that than wear a tattoo around on your face for the day? Cooper was in!
A puzzle piece is the symbol of autism awareness.
Cool cousins.
Miles even got one!
He also got some cotton candy.
All the kids got some before the walk... should help with energy, right?
The kids also got to pet a nice dog while we waited to get going.
And then we were off!
Walkin', walkin', walkin'.
Great Grandpa pushed Miles along.
And even though a few kids needed piggy back rides a little...
they jumped in line for the obstacle course as soon as we got done.
Up the climbing wall.
And down the slide!
Then some jumping!
Miles missed out on all that... the 'walking' wore him out.
...him and Jonah were in the same boat, er, uh, stroller.
They did wake up in time to eat some lunch served by Popeye's.
It was a fun morning spent supporting Ethan and raising awareness.
We love Ethan very much!
