Awana Buddy Brock

This is Cooper's buddy Brock.  Cooper loves to go to Awana and play with Brock.  I wish I could have been a fly on the wall in the first weeks of Awana to see how these two buddied up.  With twenty-ish kids in their Cubbies group it only took a few weeks for these guys to decide they were fast friends.  

 And now a little story:  This week we got to the church and went to check Cooper in at the computer check in system.  As we walked towards it we saw Brock and his Dad and said, "Hi" to them as they were getting on the elevator.  Then just as we tried to check Cooper in, the power went out.  We went back to the elevator and found that Brock and his Dad were stuck inside between floors!  We got help, but ultimately the fire department had to come and get them out!  It was quite an ordeal that lasted about 45 minutes.  During which they ended up canceling Awana since the power didn't come back on.  Cooper gave Brock a big hug when he finally got out.

Then they checked out the fire trucks.  It took two trucks because the first one had a new elevator key that wasn't working right... so they had to call another truck!

We were happy to have Brock back outside the elevator safe and sound.
