We made the trip to Iowa again over the weekend for a Mleynek Family Reunion.
It was a whole weekend event.
The first night we had dinner and since it was Grandma Neva's birthday, we had cake!
And home made ice cream. YUM!
The next morning we had make-your-own-omelets.
You put all the ingredients in a bag...
And then put them into a pot of water to cook.
And stand around socializing until yours is done.
Or you find other ways to entertain yourself. Like a little game of baseball:
Or a dead toad. I'm not even kidding.
We spent the evening at the community building in town.
Where we did more eating..
Uncle Darrin smoked some pork and brisket. And there was corn on the cob. Mmmmm...
Before we left on Sunday we had a fish fry.
Grandpa Don cooked fish that he caught in Texas, South Dakota and Northern Iowa.
It was another great meal and time spent visiting with family.
(This is Derek's Dad and his two brothers)
And the whole group.
We had a great time seeing so many Mleyneks and getting reacquainted.
Funny how family gatherings often revolove around lot of food. Just got back from Illinois, and I felt like that is what we did most??!!
