Grandma Jan gave me some iris bulbs from the farm a few years ago.
I neglected them for almost a year while they sat in our garage.
One day I planted them around the meter in our backyard thinking,
"If these will still grow, they'll camouflage the meter a bit."
They have grown leaves every year and this is their third summer in this spot.
I looked out last week to see they were growing blooms this year!
And they opened a really pretty deep purple color!
I do not have a green thumb and have no idea about flowers...
Except I guess that I can tell when they're pretty.
And these are... I'm loving looking out my kitchen window to see them smiling at me.
