It's at about this point every year that I think to myself, "Was that worth it?".
And then every year Thanksgiving rolls around and I'm begging
Derek to let me start decorating. It's worth it!
Here's a little tip from someone I know that puts up (and then takes down) Christmas Lights for a living.
Roll the strings of lights in a ball when you put them away... they don't tangle!
Sorry it's probably too late for you this year, we did this a while ago, we've just been busy!
I do dread putting away the decorations every January... but believe me... it was time!
I think the tree we purchased at Lowe's must have been one of the first cut in July or August!
It was so dry!
I am definitely going to try the ball of lights trick next year!!
ReplyDeleteI learned the rolling the light trick from Marshall Hoberecht, our friend who professionally decorates with lights for Christmas. Obviously he should know the best way! Unfortunately, Dale took our lights down this year and did not roll them up.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I will have to remember that for next year...I really don't like untangling lights! Collin was not happy with me at all this year when I took down the decorations. However, he was happy that I left the snowmen up! :)
