It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

Christmas!
It's time to decorate the house! We went Monday after Thanksgiving to find a tree.

We bundled up and headed to Lowe's... it's no Christmas Tree Farm, but it works! :)

Miles was asleep by the time we got there and slept through the whole thing.
That's good though since he was under a blanket because of the cold wind!

Searching for the right one.
Cooper really wanted that branch he's holding.

Found one! Not perfect but it will do... it was freezing!

We (Derek) tied it to the car:

Then carried it in the house:

Got it in the stand:

Then went for some water:

The tree is getting a drink and will be ready for decorating soon.

  2. Oh man, Miles is so adorable!! Love his little smile! What did you do to make him smile like that? cute! Love how Cooper smiles so well in ALL pictures. Really, how do you get him to smile, even for other people when you are not holding the cam? I mean look at that family picture, he is still smiling so well! Also, your red coat looks real great on you combined with your gray accessories. i just love how outdoorsy/traditional you are with the tree and picking it out, watering it...i mean i just wouldn't have even thought to do that. Who taught you these things? Oh and lastly, I laughed when you said "We (Derek) tied the tree to the car" hilarious! Everytime you have a post on something Derek does, I mentally add it to my checklist of something I would want my future husband to do. Currently on the list is 1. knowing how to re-model bathrooms by himself (and do it well) 2. tying stuff to the car 3. knowing common sensical stuff that I don't, such as getting a Christmas tree from outside and watering it oh and 4. not being scared of touching bugs and animals outside. oh also 5. doing all the home fix-up stuff he does, I think I remember him patching up some roof or something, and fixing up the yard. A must for my future husband because there is no way I would know how to do that.
