There is an elementary school in our neighborhood that hosts a Pumpkin Run every year.
It's held in memory of a little boy, Jared, who passed away 12 years ago of leukemia.
This is the 12th annual race and the 2nd time someone from our family has participated.
Derek's family came up last year for this event and did the same this year.
Dale, Debbie and Derek ran. (It made me really anxious to start running again!)
The weather was beautiful... a little chilly at first but we were shedding jackets soon.
Cooper on the way to the race:
And Miles too:
Derek ran this race without very much training... I'm proud of him!
They have lots to do after the race too. Like this!
Cooper got to play and loved it:
And Aunt Mik too:
Miles just slept through it... he's a trooper!
Cooper participated in the Tot Trot:
Pretty much they run down the soccer field and grab a pumpkin at the finish:
Then he did a little playing on the playground.
It was a fun morning. Good job to all the runners!
I actually forgot to take my camera to the race!
Thanks to Trey and his iPod we got the ones I posted.
Thanks again, Trey!
You forgot your camera? Hmmm, is this a first?
