Merry Makizushi

It's not uncommon around the holidays to find us baking up some Christmas goodies. But on Christmas Eve we all piled into Mom's kitchen and did something we've never done before...

Made Sushi Rolls! We didn't put any raw fish in it since we're sort of land locked and couldn't find Sushi Grade fish we wanted to buy. So technically we made Makizushi.

It wasn't too hard but will take a little practice to perfect it:

We used different combinations of shrimp, cucumber, avocado, cream cheese
and imitation crab. We even had Edamame to go with it. (And corn dogs for the kids and wimps)

Most of us liked it... some didn't... and some (Dad) put way too much wasabi on his first bite!!

It was fun and Derek and I will be trying it again at home! Yum.

  1. Okay, hilarious! I saw your post title and seriously thought someone had hacked your blog! hahahaha!

It was fun to make and though I doubt it will make it into the books as a new tradition I'm glad we tried it! Great idea :)
