Christmas at Home

Since Cooper and I are headed to Wichita on Monday,
we had our family Christmas this weekend.

We started things out with dinner on Friday night:

Grilled Steak with Mushrooms, Lobster Tail, Stir Fry Green Beans,

Next we read the Christmas Story from Luke 2 (Yep, on an iPod)

While Derek read, Cooper acted out the story with his new nativity:

Then we snacked on Homemade Truffles:

And Derek's Homemade Eggnog:

While we opened gifts:

We took our time and let Cooper play with each gift
for a while before moving on. It was so much fun!

This one is from Grandpa Secor:

A Veggietales DVD and the book, "Will, God's Mighty Warrior".
Thanks, Grandpa!

Cooper was excited about the next one... (So was Daddy)

And I don't know how but Cooper knew exactly what to do with it:
(Derek says "instinct". Derek could also be heard saying,
"These are made just like when I was a kid!")

This play time lasted quite a while! :)

Derek and I each took Cooper to Dollar Tree and let him pick out and buy a gift for us.
This is what Cooper got for Daddy:

And this is what he got Mommy... I should have known,
he always wants to hold these when we go in there! :)

The next gift was from Grandpa Gordie & Grandma Jan:

Tools!

Cooper is ready to do some serious work now:

Thank You, Grandpa & Grandma!

Good thing he got a drill, he used it to open the next gift:

Drums from Mommy & Daddy:

He rocked out for a while on these but he had one more to go.

The last one was from Grandpa Don & Grandma Neva:

A scooter and helmet:

It didn't take Cooper long to get it going around the living room.
Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!

And then he started all over at the beginning again:

We had a great night and enjoyed spending time together celebrating Jesus' birth.
We pray you're blessed this holiday season by friends, family and the precious gift of God's Son.

Merry Christmas!
