Run the Race

Monday some of us entered a 5k run together.
We ran in the 19th annual Leawood Labor Day Run at the Headache and Pain Center.

The runners ready to go:

...and we're off!

Some of our cheering section:

Here we are arriving back at the finish line. This is the order we finished:
Yep, that's me. Last from our group... waving at Cooper!
Derek had already finished, he just jumped back in with me for a minute...what a great guy! :)

The runners after the race. A bit more sweaty...

They had the age categories broken down pretty small and we each fell into a different one.
All of us (except Mal) had finishing times right in the middle of our category.
(Exciting for me since I'm s-l-o-w. I was hoping to not be last in my 24-29 age category.)
Mal, without even training, came in first for her age group.

There was also an "All you can eat" pancake breakfast after the race:

The whole group. We had a good time and made some fun memories.

We spent the rest of our Labor Day relaxing at Brenda's again. And eating good food!

  1. Wow for you! It's not where you finished but that you finished! Good job. I run to my mailbox and need to come back in and lay down! hehe

Love the share the love pictures! How cute!

Every time Grandma Debbie comes for the weekend, she's bringing something new for Cooper! I think she is completely and totally in love with that yummy thing!

  2. Great run, Amy! Craig is training for a race, too, and it's a big deal!

I think it's comical that it's "Headache and Pain Center" - that pretty much sums up my running experience altogether. :)
