Derek had taken off work the day after Labor Day, so that we could use that day to travel home. So we got up early and said our goodbyes to family.
And the dogs.
And snuggled in for the long (about nine hours) ride home.
Both boys had a nap before we even ate lunch!
Speaking of lunch... G'ma Debbie had sent delicious sandwiches for our trip.

The boys love to sing. They listened to three years worth of VBS songs and sang along to fill time.
We took one rather unconventional restroom break...
And finally made it back to Peoria.
The river is a fun landmark that welcomes us home.
We never could coordinate to meet the boys other new cousin, but will next time!
We had a great trip and very much enjoyed spending time with family!
