Swimming Lessons

Cooper took swimming lessons four days a week for the last two weeks.
I took this picture the first day and I'm pretty sure it was the first and last time these kids sat on the step like they were supposed to.  I felt bad for her that most days she spent a good part of the lesson wrangling them back onto the stairs.

She would take turns with each child working on something they'd learned.

Miles took the opportunity to collect Roly Polys.

And some days distract the class with his finds.

...he had quite a few finds every day!

The first day of lessons during the second week,
Cooper's wish came true and they got to jump off the diving board.

He acted more timid than I thought he would for wanting to so bad.

And he ended up jumping right on top of his teacher.  Poor girl.

The next day they all lined up to go again.

I don't think Cooper was as scared this time,
but he was trying so hard to figure out how to not jump on his teacher.

Success!

And fail.  Miles threw Coop's goggles in the deep end while we weren't looking.

Another lifeguard swam all the way to the bottom to retrieve them.
...scoring some 'cool' points with onlooking beginner swimmers for sure!

 Speaking of cool...
Most days Cooper was a little chilly when he got out of the water.
We've had great, mild summer weather!

Cooper got his report card on the last day and a bomb pop too!

Good job, Cooper!  He's a natural fish.

  1. Good for you Cooper! I'm sure you were better behaved than Ryan. Ryan spent most of his first swimming lesson class sitting out cause he couldn't stop splashing the other kids!!

    Fun post Amy :)
