Moving - Back to Peoria

Derek got up and limped the Durango over to the mechanic that opened the earliest, and had good Google reviews. :)  He wanted to be at their door when they opened at 7am in hopes they would check out the brakes right away.  They did!  They adjusted them and got it fixed while he chatted with the guys in the office about hunting. Then they sent him on his way... FREE OF CHARGE!!  Derek was impressed with this place, they earned a costumer for sure.  And we got two free mugs. ha.

We were on the road sooner than we thought, but later than we'd originally planned.
Owen did really well.

But it was a lot of Miles in the car for all of us.

And some of it in pretty strong storms.  Not my favorite.

At least Owen sleeps well in the car, he took a three hour nap!

At some point back in Illinois, we passed my sister, Mandy, and her family going the other direction.    They had stayed in Chicago for some family time after Alyssa's wedding.

And finally...  we made it back to Peoria!!  We reunited with our big boys!

Over Chicago style food at the new Portillo's in Peoria.

I went with the hot dog... Yum.

Thankfully, we our map had rerouted us around all traffic jams, and the Durango didn't overheat, until we were back in Peoria.  Once it cooled and Derek added coolant, we were okay again.

To head to our "home" for the next two weeks, the Stoney Creek Inn.

By that point, we all felt like this...

It felt like moving in.   Again.

(It had a kitchen, making the next two weeks much easier than without)

And then we all went to bed!  Whew.
