Go RVing - Extra Days

Since Miles fell asleep in the car after visiting Donna, we carried him into the hotel and put him right in bed.  When he woke up in the morning, he said, "I found my gum!".  When I asked where, he said, "In my mouth."!  Somehow he slept all night with the Spiderman ice cream bar eyeball in his mouth!  I'm just glad we didn't find it in his hair or eyebrow!

We packed up our things but before we left Miami, we met up with some friends for breakfast.  Scott and Mike were college classmates of Derek's.  Mike's cousin owns this Cuban restaurant, Havana 1957, at the Lincoln Road Mall in Miami Beach.

The first thing we ordered was some authentic Cuban coffee, fixed how they would traditionally have it for breakfast, with a little milk.

Then they dip their toast into the coffee.

There's not as much traditional Cuban food on the breakfast menu, and the boys went with pancakes and french toast... check out the size of Cooper's french toast!

He cleaned it up and Miles came pretty close with his pancakes.

It was a nice time catching up over great food!

We wandered around the mall for a little while before we needed to get on the road.

Once on the way, we made our way up to Orlando.

First stop was Derek's alma mater, Full Sail University

We were scheduled to go on a tour since it's been ten years since Derek graduated.  We checked in right in the lobby I used to work answering phones when we lived there.  It was a fun blast from the past.

Though the school has changed quite a bit and grown like crazy.  The boys got to play video games (designed by students) while we waited for the tour to start.

Once on the tour, they were impressed with all the buttons and equipment.  They were even allowed to touch some of them!

Really, we just had a good time reminiscing.

And while we were at it, we drove around the corner to the apartments we lived in while Derek went to school.  But they're gated now, so we couldn't get into the complex.

So we just drove past and went to another old favorite place!

Jeremiah's Italian Ice!  Ice cream is a must while reminiscing...

Tasting is a good way to reminisce too.  :)

Miles slept through the whole thing.

But Cooper enjoyed his first gelati.  It's layered ice cream and italian ice... and Cooper preferred my caffe latte flavor over his cherry, so we shared.

We headed to our hotel and checked in then the boys took a quick dip in the pool.

While we waited for Derek to come back with pizza.

The guys ended the evening with a little soak in the hot tub.
